Mango Jam/ Jelly Recipe

How do you do make mango jam?

  • Wash, peel, and remove the core of the mango
  • Chop the mango into quarter-inch chunks.
  • Juice of one lemon
  • Add lemon juice, mango, and 1/2 cup of sugar to a saucepan.
  • Heat to a boil
  • After 5 minutes and Mango has softened mash with a fork or blend with an immersion blender for a smoother jam.
  • Continue to simmer on medium/ low heat until thick approximately 20 minutes.
  • Transfer jam to jars and allow to cool.

Equipment

  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Spatula
  • 1 Knife
  • 2-3 Jars with lids
  • 1 Immersion blender or regular blender
  • 1 Saucepan

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups Mango (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 Juice of one lemon

Instructions
 

  • Wash, peel, and core mangos
  • Chop mangos into 1/4-inch pieces
  • Add lemon juice, sugar, and mango chunks to a saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil
  • Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Use an immersion blender or standard blender to puree the jam to desired your consistency.
  • Simmer for 15 minutes more minutes on meduim/ low heat. The mixture should thicken to a jam-like consistency.
  • Transfer to jars using a spatula
  • Allow the strawberry jam/ jelly to cool.
  • Jam can be stored in the fridge for a month or frozen for up to 6 months
