How to make pear ginger jam?
- Wash pears
- Peel the pears and ginger, this step is optional. If you plan on pureeing the jam you can leave the peel on. This will also provide extra fiber!
- Chop the pears and ginger into 1/4-inch chunks.
- Juice one lemon
- Add lemon juice, pears, ginger, and 3/4 cup of sugar to a saucepan.
- Heat to a boil
- Continue to simmer on medium/ low heat until thick approximately 20 minutes.
- Transfer to jars and allow to cool.
How long is homemade jam good for?
Homemade jam can be stored in the fridge for 4 weeks or freezer for 6 months.

Learn how to make our delicious small-batch pear and ginger jam! This jelly recipe is low in sugar, and perfect for a breakfast treat, cheese plate, and more.
Equipment
- 1 Knife
- 1 Cutting board
- 1 peeler
- 1 Sauce Pan
- 1 Spatula
- 2-3 Jars and lids
- 1 Immersion blender or regular blender
Ingredients
- 3 Pears
- 1 2-Inch Piece of ginger
- 1 Juice of one lemon
- 1/2 cup Sugar
Instructions
- Wash pears and ginger
- Peel pears & ginger. This step is optional.
- Chop pears & ginger into 1/4-inch pieces
- Add pears, ginger, juice of one lemon, and sugar to a saucepan.
- Bring to a boil
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Using an immersion blender or regular blender puree the mixture to desired consistency.
- Continue to simmer for 15 minutes. The mixture should thicken to a jam-like consistency.
- Transfer to jars using a spatula
- Allow the jam/ jelly to cool.
- Store in refrigerator for 4 weeks or freezer for up to 6 months.
